Consider investing in Once upon a Horse (If you are interested, call Susie at 503-502-1719.)
We are taking a break at Once upon a Horse, so classes will be discontinued for a brief period. We are seeking a new barn and some committed investors who would like to be part of the business or who would like to purchase the business. Susie would remain the director of the operation, and she hopes to find a few people to work with her on the business end of the operation.
Since Once upon a Horse has enjoyed a solid reputation in the past, since it has offered much to the community, and since it enjoys a group of very loyal clients, we hope that we can find the support we need to make Once upon a Horse a permanent part of the Oregon community of riders and horse lovers.
Because we hope potential investors will want to browse our site, we have left class lists and descriptions here for you to see.
You may register and pay for activites by phone (503-502-1719) or online. You may also pay in person at our office with a credit card or check. (Please call to arrange coming to the office.) You will receive directions to the barn on receipt of payment.
Every participant must submit a registration form. Print and complete the form. Then bring the registration form on the first day of your event or mail it to us:

Thank you for a wonderful summer. Please join us for Fall and Winter events. And don't forget that we arrange special events to suit your needs—field trips, special parties, and other horsey adventures. Just look at our Parties page or call Susie (503-502-1719(.
Since we have had so much fun at our open houses, we are offering another. We'll have popcorn, pony rides, and lots of horsin' around. We'd love to see you and talk to your about all our offerings:
Or maybe you'd like to visit with a special group you belong to. If so, schedule a field trip to the barn. Just call, and we will set it up (503-502-1719).
The days are warming up, and you might want to get outside and ride. If so, check out our Camps. You can rope and ride and enjoy fun with the horses. Once Upon A Horse offers programs and parties designed to introduce horses and riding to the young or inexperienced. In fact, you might want to attend our I Wanna Horse, My Very Own Horse class to find out what horse ownership is all about.
We start children from the ages of 2 through 10 with age appropriate activities including a You and Me and Pony Makes Three class, Pony & Pizza Play Days, The Pony Planet, and Birthday Parties, and Camps during Spring and Summer.
We also offer private and group lessons. English and Western styles of riding are covered along with basic grooming and handling.
To find out more about our staff and our horses, you can visit the Once upon a Horse Blog, where Susie Schramm, the Director of Once upon a Horse, reflects on every aspect of our magical relationship with horses. You will also find Susie's favorite Once upon a Horse videos and pictures on her blog.
We started a "group lesson" last year. These consist of 4-5 students and are run from 12:00-3:00 on Saturdays. We have varying levels of riders—some who can tack up and ride without assistance and some newer riders who benefit from a little more help while finding their way. The atmosphere is one of sharing and socializing, and learning continues for us all.
We offer private lessons scheduled to suit your needs. If you want to find a riding partner to arrange lessons and events at a bargain price, let us know. Give us a call or send email, and we will try to set up a combined lesson for you.
All packages, lessons, and events are prepaid. All private lessons are by appointment. If you miss a class, we are happy to reschedule within the month if there is availability.
We offer a "green discount" to those groups whose members carpool to our barn.
