OUR STAFF

Our staff includes people who love horses, riding, and teaching people about horses and riding. Their range of experience in horsemanship offers them a broad perspective on how humans and horses interact and bond, and they bring to their work both enthusiasm and diligence. They are first and foremost concerned for the safety and welfare of our students, and they practice safe riding, careful handling of horses, and good barn management techniques.

Shannon
Shannon started her life with horses before she would walk. After a childhood of riding in 4-H, she found her way into eventing, and she has evented competitively on the West Coast at Training level.

Shannon breeds horses, teaches riders from first-timer to intermediate, and starts young horses. Her focus in training and teaching is to make a horse pleasant to ride and to help riders become confident in their own abilities. In addition to teaching and training, Shannon is our barn manager, and she runs a very tight ship!

George
George is Miss Susie's son, and he has been her assistant and her inspiration throughout the years. When you visit the barn, you will see him mucking stalls, hauling hay, and just being the friendly cowpoke that he is. In addition to being a great help at the barn, George is an accomplished artist, whose work runs the gamut from portraiture to Western cowboy sculpture.
