Once upon a Horse
P.O. Box 482
Lake Oswego, Oregon, 97034

Once Upon A Horse offers programs and parties designed to introduce horses and riding to the young or inexperienced.

We start children from the ages of 2 through 10 with age appropriate activities including a You and Me and Pony Makes Three class, Pony & Pizza Play Days, The Pony Planet, and Birthday Parties, and A Day at the Barn with Horses during Spring and Summer.

We also offer private and group lessons. English and Western styles of riding are covered along with basic grooming and handling.

We started a "group lesson" this year which consists of 4-5 students and is run from 12:00-3:00 on Saturdays. We have varying levels of riders some who can tack up and ride without assistance and some newer riders who benefit from their experience while finding their way. The atmosphere is one of sharing and socializing, and learning continues for us all.

We also offer private lessons scheduled to suit your needs. If you want to find a riding partner to arrange lessons and events at a bargain price, let us know. Give us a call or send email, and we will try to set up a combined lesson for you.

All packages, lessons, and events are prepaid. All private lessons are by appointment. If you miss a class, we are happy to reschedule within the month if there is availability.

We can also arrange an introduction to trail riding that gives riders a chance to experience the basics of trail riding with a qualified instructor. Riders 6 and up are welcome to participate. Please call Susie (503-635-7403) to schedule your trail ride.

We give a "green discount" to those groups whose members carpool to our barn. Please let Susie know if you plan to carpool.

Thanks to all who attended our camps this summer in the new barn. We had a great time and so did the horses, cats, chickens, and ducks.

Our camps, which give young cowpokes a chance to spend several days with us, will resume this coming Spring and Summer.
