At Once upon a Horse,we believe that horsemanship
is about much more than riding. Horsemanship involves human's relationships
with horses, with country life, with the environment in many ways.
The history of riding in America touches us in many ways, and at
Once upon a Horse, we try to connect our riders with traditions
of horse training, horse care, horse ownership, horse equipment
so that our students leave our lessons with a full understanding
of horses, of themselves as riders, and of the world we inhabit
with horses.
We also believe that horses and children create a kind of magic—hence
our name: "Once upon a Horse." Once upon a time, something
happened when we were small and we imagined ourselves riding. We
felt strong, we felt enchanted, we felt at one with our horse. At
our barn, with our lessons, we help children and adults recapture
and connect with the magic of this relationship.
We offer lessons for children and adults. We host birthday parties
and gatherings for other festive occasions. And we provide camps
for school breaks, when kids need something fun to occupy them.
Check out our schedule for events and register with us online.
We hope to offer riding vacations soon, for example, a riding tour
of Iceland or Spain or Norway. Contact us if you might be interested
in such a trip. |
